Take cover with your children!

Here are a few simple ways to protect your children from the sun’s harmful rays the next time they want to get outside and enjoy the outdoors:
- Be a role model and follow the Canadian Cancer Society’s Sun Safety guidelines.
- Help your children to be safe while outdoors by following sun safety tips for children. It’s easier for your children to form good habits now than break a bad one later!
- Learn about the ultraviolet ray (UV) index and what it means to your family.
- Learn about sunscreen and how to apply it.
- Check your children’s skin for changes.
- Download a free copy of one of the Canadian Cancer Society’s sun-related publications in English or French:
- SunSense – Offers tips on how to keep your family safe while still enjoying the sun!
- Fortune Teller - This fun and interactive resource is for primary school age children and provides general information on how to be sun-safe.
